Jill Pullen, CD(DONA), CLC, CPST
My journey into birth work started with my own journey toward parenthood. In 2010, about two years before our first pregnancy, I started diving into information about birth and learning everything I could, so that I would be prepared when the time came. When we were pregnant with our first, we realized that we could use some extra guidance through the process and decided to hire a doula. The support she provided was vital to both my husband and myself as we navigated our options, coping techniques, and ultimately giving birth to our three children on our own terms.
Fast forward another several years to 2020 when I decided to jump in with both feet and immerse myself in birth work. I trained with Wendy Sharp of DONA International, the original certifying doula organization, and joined a 6 month mentorship through Doula Love. I have since been the primary doula to over 130 birthing families. I’ve certified with DONA, as well as become a Certified Lactation Counselor, Child Passenger Safety Technician, and trained in many other ways support birthing families (Acupressure for birth, placenta encapsulation, Spinning Babies, supporting plus size pregnancy, supporting through loss, etc).
Every family is unique, and every pregnancy is different. As a doula, my goal is to support and empower you and your partner, providing comfort, confidence, and knowledge through the birthing process. Whether you want an unmedicated home birth with a midwife, or a planned c-section (and everything in between!), having an experienced support person there only for you can make your experience so much more empowering and satisfying (see doula stats here!). I have experience supporting hospital births, birth center births and home births, including induction, vaginal, cesarean, twins, VBAC, IVF, surrogacy, and many other unique situations.
I am committed to serving you, and to enabling your partner or other birth team members to do their best to support you in the ways that you need. In my opinion, an empowering birth experience can help shape the course of your life as a parent. With my support, you will get just that and much more.
More about me - in my spare time you can find my husband Andy and I out adventuring around the lovely PNW with our three kids and our sweet dog. I also enjoy running, reading, puzzles, cooking, gardening, and traveling to new places. I’m always looking for a new fun thing to dive into (lately soap making!).
